Abstract(in English) In this report, we propose the technique of extracting characteristic parameter from eyes, eyebrow and lip on the face image that have various expression, and apply this parameter to expression recognition problem by multi-layered neural network. We tralned characteristic parameters of seven kinds expression for learning data, and tested performance of the network for test data. Also, we investigated which part of face influences expression recognition. Finally, we optimized number of the hidden layer unit by using forgetting, and analyzed emotional space that appears hidden layer
