Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Independent Component Analysis (ICA) for blind source separation has recently raised an increasing interest. In previous studies, small or middle microphone arrays of 2-8 microphones are used for separation, but large microphone arrays of over 100 microphones have not yet been used. In this paper, two problems for blind separation using large microphone array are discussed. First problem is that if the number of microphones is larger than sources the source signal separated into some independent components. When a lot of microphones are used, it becomes a serious problem. For this problem, we discuss whether method for small or middle microphone arrays can be used. Second problem is a permutation problem. A large microphone array system was constructed, using this system, it is easy to increase the number of microphones, Experimental results using the system was shown.
