Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a sound source localization method by using freely positioned microphones. The proposed method is enables teleconferencing systems to pick up speech while suppressing noise and to steer the camera automatically. However, in the conventional source localization methods, the microphone positions must be known. Therefore, the microphones must be placed at fixed positions. This is inconvenient. The proposed method can estimate the source and microphone locations even when the microphones are placed freely and their positions are unknown. Computer simulations and experiments show that the proposed method is effective at estimating the source location.
