Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When the compact disc was developed, the difference of the sound quality dependent on the difference of structure/material of CD was discussed hotly. However, the answer is reaching at present without being clarified completely. We have introduced High Order Sensation (HOS) that is evoked from music, and we aim to reproduce HOS on the digital sound system. We came to guess that jitter is the most important efficient cause of the sound quality deterioration. We have now focused on the mechanical vibration of CD caused by material/structure. For example we have measured the optical reflection rate, and the quantity of transparent light of CD. Especially, it is clarified that the quantity of transparent light, which is related with thickness of aluminum foil, is about 100 times different between the any tested discs, nevertheless the reflection rate is not different. And the difference is also related with the sound quality on HOS. We report about the relation between the faithful reproduction of HOS and the structure/material/production process of CD. We believe that we can improve the sound quality of CD, by analyzing the difference of the structure/material of CD.
