Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A method for speech enhancement under the machine noise environment is proposed. The key point is to estimate the background noise in advance because the stationary process can be assumed. The noise component to suppress is modeled by the AR process in the no-speech segment and estimated through the Kalman filter from the noise-corrupted speech signal. Finally the target speech can be extracted by substracting the estimated noise from the observation. The performance of noise suppression is examined by comparison between the conventional spectre substraction method and the proposed one.
