Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper reports examination between reverberation time and adaptive filter tap length of an echo canceller Which is used to eliminate the acoustic echo in hands-free communications, by listening tests. First, the voice through an echo path and an echo canceller was recorded, and it was listened to by subjects to examine differential limen. We call this experiment as "off-line experiment." The result gives a brief relationship between the tap length and the reverberation time. At the next experiment the subjects speak by themselves and listen to the error signal to examine differential limen. The preliminary result suggested the tap length could be shorter than that given by the reverberation time in a few cases.
