Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes design and simulation by amplitude compression method for a hearing aid to develop an intelligent and small digital hearing aid. We have designed as follows: the sampling frequency is 12kHz, the number of band pass filters is 9, attenuation value of their stop band is -70dB, amplitude is compressed by maximum value of each filter in every 10ms, and delay time for processing sound is 22.5ms. We show sounds processed male and female voices. The number of calculations for adding and multiplications is 40M/s. It is possible to process sound by single DSP. We discussed two issues for design of the hearing aid.
