A Spatial Sound Source Made by Focused Parametric Array Sound Beam

Abstract(in English) The spatial sound source system which means a condition of emitting a sound from a point of space as if there was a speaker at the point,was developed.The 40KHz ultra-sonic wave modulated in amplitude by the signal of audible frequency is emitted from a piezo- electric transducer,and the wave is demodulated and sharply directed beam of audible sound is generated by the parametric- array effect.Then the audible sound is reflected on a parabolic surface and focused in a point.The reflected sound wave spreads in a limited area behind the focused point with a wave front just like that of a real sound source located at the,focused point.Then, a listener in the sound spreading area will hear the audible sound as if the sound wave came from the focused point.This is the spatial sound source system we named and expected to be. By the experiments,the audible demodulated sound is heard powerful and the possibility′of spatial sound source is confirmed.
