Abstract(in English) This study deals with an estimation of sound number for multi-sound field. The sound number has been implicity regarded as knowm in a general acoustical measurement. However, an information about sound number is indispensable for an acoustical measurement to be adapticable to such a multi-sound field in which the sound number varries at times. The proposed method uses a sound pickup system by using a three-dimensionally spaced microphone array system based on wavelength constant matrix. Numerical simulation under the restriction that the sound number is under five, provided a performance with an accuracy rate of 87.5% for the cases of sound number from one up to four. In addition, ambiguous external noise has not been taken into consideration in the present study.
