Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) At present, in the silencing systems for exhaust noise of automobiles, the perforated pipe is generally used, its characteristic however have not been thoroughly investigated theoretically. The theoretical calculations of the sound pressure inside the chamber with perforated pipe are carried out by solving the wave equation with the assumption that the loss at the wall of a chamber can be neglected. The results are compared with findings from our experiment.
