Estimation of Pre-Fixed FIR Filter Coefficients in Active Noise Control System

Abstract(in English) The coefficients of the error path filter and the acoustic feedback control filter built into the feedforward type active noise control system, are generally fixed with the value estimated before the system starts the control. The estimation is performed by driving a speaker with the white noise made in the system. For practical use, the coefficients should be automatically estimated in the presence of the noise to be controlled. This paper shows the availability of the correlation coefficient between the residual and the output of the FIR filter which is proposed for the detection of echo path fluctuation. The correlation coefficient also presents a method of reducing the convergence time. In addition, a value approximated to the noise power is introduced to adjust the threshold for the convergence decision. The introduction allows the noise power to be unknown.
