Abstract(in English) Recent, field of industry requiring the frequency characteristics of damping coefficient (or loss factor) of damping materials has been spreading. Measuring method of damping characteristics are classified into two categories, i.e. Resonance Method and Nonresonance Method. We propose here a new Nonresonance Method by Forced Vibration experiment with trial device. In this Method, free edge of a sample in shape of cantilever is vibrated by the electromagnetic actuator. We consider here that damping coefficient of the material can be obtained from the difference of damping coefficient measured on the actuator loaded with and without contilever sample. The feature is that the damping coefficient is derived from the electric power required for the forced Vibration on any frequency and any vibration amplitude.
