Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A system is proposed in which the similarity between two melody patterns is estimated. Two similar relation is evaluated hierarchically as to time fluctuation in the patterns produced by band-pass filter bank. The similarity is represented as three estimated patterns such as filter output, residual in Linear Prediction and generation output is synthesized from PARCOR coefficient and common trial residual. They are produced by calculating inner product. The experimental results for test pitch sequences show that the system works effectively to detect contour similarity and just a slight difference like semi tone interval.
