Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Sound absorptive film has not been popularly used, because of its low sound absorption coefficients, being around 30% at the peak value, in spite of some peculiar possibilities such as its transparency. Equivalent electric circuit of the film system is introduced for the improvement study. The low absorption is clearly due to the low resistance. Increase of the area of the film in contact with supporting material is expected as the best way to the desired resistance ρc. PTFE Compound film sandwiched with flattened expanded aluminum sheets of some mesh size showed high sound absorption coefficients. Multiple layers of film and air space can produce more improved characteristics by properly arranging their resonance frequencies. |
