Abstract(in English) In this paper,experiments on timbre were carried out wherein the difference limens for timbre of complex tones consisting of only higher harmonics were obtained by the constant method with changing their spectral structures.These results show that for higher harmonics each component cannnot be heard separately but several harmonics are perceived in a lump.These difference limens were then estimated using band-pass filters which have bandwidth equal to the critical band and partly overlap each other.These estimates indicate characteristics similar to the experimental results.
