Noise Level Reduction by Cylindrical Sound Absorber of Aluminum Fiber

Abstract(in English) Noise barriers are commonly used as the countermeasures against traffic noise, however, their effects of noise level reduction are insufficient in most cases, because the noise levels of most roads are getting higher with the increase of traffic. Now, we have developed effective sound screening cylinders which are in diameter and composed of sound absorbing aluminum fiber. They are used mounted on a barrier top and the effect of noise level reduction are expected several decibels greater than conventional types of barriers of the same height.
