A study of the relationship between the frequency spectrum of a road noise and a human work efficiency

Abstract(in English) We are examined human work efficiency by paying attention to a spectrum of road noise characteristic. Experiment was done using a simulated road noise. Three kind of noises having peak frequencies of 500Hz, 1kHz, and 2kHz was used. The work efficiency was obtained by the Uchida-Krepelin's test. The testee are six men (21-24 years old). In the case of same frequency spectrum, as lower the presentation level, effect for the work efficiency becomes smaller. In the case of same presentation level, as lower the peak frequency, effect for the work efficiency becomes smaller. Some parameters such as loudness, sharpness, roughness were calculated for each noise, and relationship between these parameters and work efficiency was discussed.
