Sound Intensity Measurement on the Surface of an Absorptive Material. : Investigations for the measurement of the oblique-incidence sound absorption coefficient

Abstract(in English) We proposed a measurement method of the sound absorption coefficient by use of the ratio of the normal component of the sound intensity near the surface of a test material to the incident sound intensity. This method can also be applied to the measurement of the oblique-incidence sound absorption coefficient. A computer simulation showed the validity of this method. In this report, we investigate the validity of this method experimentally. For measurement of the sound intensity near a test material, we made a tube-microphone intensity probe and report the Frequency characteristics of the tube-microphone and the sound absorption coefficients obtained by using the tube-microphone intensity probe will be reported.
