Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As digital broadcasting has rapidly spread throughout the world, the number of channels of data broadcasting has been increasing dramatically. To use efficiently the limited data broadcasting channel bandwidth, it is important to study how to select contents with higher viewership and how often to broadcast the contents to viewers at home. In the paper, we propose a new data broadcasting service system model. Since new performance metrics and new scheduling algorithms are needed for the new system service model, we propose new methods introducing a receiving failure probability at home which has not been taken into account for the system performance. Furthermore, we present detailed performance evaluation of the proposed scheduling algorithms with various traffic and access patterns using computer simulation.
