Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, a performance tuning function(product name: HIHSM)implemented on SANRISE2000 RAID subsystems, which are designed for enterprise computing environments, is introduced. HIHSM offers the monitoring function and the logical volume migration function. Using the monitoring function, we can detect the bottleneck part in a RAID subsystem. In HIHSM, the on-line migration operation of logical volumes is transparent for hosts. With the migration function, we can solve the bottleneck of load unbalancing among physical drives in a RAID subsystem and improve the cost-performance ratio.
