Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A new method, called Acl-browsing method, of treating effectively the documents that are drawn by a search engine or a filtering system is proposed. The documents are first arranged linearly according to their similarity values, and subdivided into clusters. Next, the clusters including the documents similar to a query as well as the clusters adjacent to the ones just examined are browsed. We realized a JAVA oriented Acl-browsing navigator that can interact with a user in a manner similar to the book keeping system in a traditional library. Experimental evaluations for Acl-browsing and the interface design were also carried out.
