Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Although keyword-based retrieval methods occupy the major position in document retrieval methods, it has obviously limitation in retrieval effectiveness because it is difficult to satisfy users' requests using only query words and its statistical characteristics. Thus we have developed a method named Structured Index to enhance retrieval effectiveness using dependency relationships between words in sentences of documents and queries. We show that our method is more effective than TF-IDF method through the retrieval experiments using documents titles. In our study, in order to aplying our method to full-text search, we apply Structured Index system to documents' abstructs. The experimental results show that our method's normalized precision is 20% higher than the TF-IDF method.
