Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Asynchronous messages, such as E-mails, are widely used in communication in computer supported collaborative work. In real situations, exchanges of messages compose a process with a particular purpose. Since these processes are not well managed in current message management systems, there is a risk that the state of an argument with messages would not reach the originally planned wished goal. Moreover, it is difficult to support these ad-hoc processes by conventional process management systems, such as workflow management systems. In this paper, we propose a model that treats such a process as a transaction, and describe a prototype system implementing the model. We also show an analysis of actual e-mail communication record in which we assigned transactions to messages, to show practicality of our model, and show an analysis result on real message communications.
