Abstract(in English) | Multimedia data has two properties : one is encapsulation based on abstract data types, and the other is network structure which is seen in hypermedia. It is already known that the object-oriented data model is suitable for encapsulation. However, open problems still remain with respect to network structure. Then, we designed a storage system called HyNeSS (Hyper Network Storage System) and implemented its prototype system. The significant feature of HyNeSS is the incorporation of the integrity management mechanisms, namely, referential integrity, link derivation, and consistency management mechanisms. These mechanisms are advantageous to multimedia database and digital library systems. |
