| Abstract(in English) | Recent spread of point-of-sales system makes it possible for retail industries to collect and store massive amounts of sales data. To manage effective market strategies, data mining technology is getting important which discover association rules between items and attributes in the sales data. Though fast algorithms for discovering association rules have been proposed, discovered association rules get often too many and too primitive to understand as a whole. To overcome this trouble, we propose a method of visualizing association rules to provide the user with a bird's-eye picture of the whole rules. Furthermore, we studies applying statistical tests to association rules so that we can distinguish significant rules from insignificant ones. Hiding "uninteresting" rule is helpful for reducing the graphical complexity. |
