Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Data-knowledge coordination model is suitable for integrating databases(DBs)and knowledge-bases(KBs)under distributed environment. One of its implementation problems is how to import data and knowledge from the underlying DBs and KBs into the context module and coordinate them in it.Methods based on copy operations will cause data and knowledge duplication.Conventional view functions cannot permit enough autonomy required bv applications.Furthermore, the view update problem is not solved completely even for relational databases.By these reasons,we regard the imported data and knowledge as the proxies of the corresponding data and knowledge in the independentlv managed DBs and KBs,and introduce proxy classes into the data-knowledge coordination model. The model is more flexible and has less problems than the above mentioned methods. In this paper,we will discuss proxy classes and their application in the data-knowledge coordination model.
