A Conception of an Archaeological Information Network

Abstract(in English) Several databases are being constructed to store huge archaeological informations which have been caused by enormous number of rescue excavations in Japan. This paper first discusses on salient features of archaeological data that disturb archaeologists in making apprppriate query for database, and then propose new frameworks to integrate those distributed heterogeneous archaeological databases via internet to support archaeological research activities.
