Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have measured the performance of a database engine, Oracle8, quantitatively to tune the performance. The instruction counts of primitive database operations have been measured in order to tune the performance of the database engine. Based on the data, we have applied several performance tuning and confirmed the quantitative result. Then, we could reduce 37% instruction counts of TPC-C type benchmarks in the short period time.
