Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the quantitative diagnosis of liver cirrhosis, we analyze the characteristics of amplitude of the B-mode image from the liver. In this paper, we examine the probability density of amplitude from RF echo signal and B-mode image of the normal and diseased liver. The probability density function(p.d.f.)of the echo envelope amplitude from the normal liver agrees well with the Rayleigh distribution function. In the cirrhotic liver, the correlation of p.d.f.of the RF echo and Rayleigh distribution function is low comparing with normal one. These results are better than the results of the B-mode image. It is found that the RF echo signal is valid to analyze the relationship between the characteristics of biological tissue and the signal for the ultrasonic imaging system.
