Abstract(in English) This paper describes a water-identification system using shear horizontal surface acoustic wave(SH-SAW)fabricated on 36゜ rotated Y-cut X-propagating LiTaO3.For the identification,two methods are used.One is based on conventional multivariate analysis that requires numerical calculation.The other method is new one which allows simultaneous representation of the sensor output signals on the permittivity-conductivity(ε_r-σ chart proposed by the present author.In the experiment,six kinds of water samples are examined and good identification are obtained.Furthermore,many kinds of water samples are examined with the sensor operating at 30MHz using ε_r-σ chart by which the fine differences of the electrical properties between samples are discriminated.
