Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The speed of Lamb waves depends on the frequency as well as the thicness of the plate. Therefore, when considering the use of Lamb waves for industrial purpose, the speed of sound will be different for every single unit since the frequency and the thickness of the plate flactuate according to the tolerance of parts.Generally, the speed of sound is calculated from the relationship between distance and propagatingtime. However,to get the relationship of each unit would take considerable time and would not suit mass production. For this reason,an algorithm to calculate the distance using approximated speeds of sound without decreasing the distance measurement accuracy is established through an experimental and theoretical study on the nature of anti-symmetric O-order-mode Lamb waves.
