Analysis of Parabolic Sound Collectors for Acoustical Diagnosis by Finite Difference Simulation

Abstract(in English) A computer program for finite difference Simulation was developed in order to analyze the characteristics of parabolic sound collectors for acoustical diagnosis of industrial facilities. Using a 3-D model, propagation, reflection and scattering of plane waves of tangential incidence were simulated. Directivities of various types of sound collectors were estimated, and the results were compared with experiments utilizing digital signal processing. computer animation of sound propagation in and around the parabolic sound collector will be shown at the presentation.
