A Circular Rolled Diaphragm Tweeter Capable of Reproducing Super Treble Sound

Abstract(in English) We developed a tweeter capable of reproducing super treble sound widely applicable to general and moderate audio product's loudspeakers, intended to improve tone quality or correspond to the audio format in DVD. Circular-rolled-shaped -like a upper surface of horizontally layed doughnut- diaphragm was devised, possessing higher treble resonance frequency, wide directivity, lesser cavity effect and driverbility with a small voice-coil. The cross section curve of the diaphragm wad fitted by computer FEM simulation. Air permeability in outer portion of the diaphragm with the unique paper making process realized to damp lower frequency resonance peak. Finally, using general pulp material, we realized reproducing frequency range up to 40kHz, smooth response in audible range and wide directivity rival with dome type tweeter.
