Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A method is proposed for reducing the artifacts in the ultrasonic diffraction tomography by adjusting the surrounding medium velocity. Thus, contrary requirements are satisfied for minimizing the errors caused by the Rytov′s weak scattering approx imation and the measurement data noise. Both simulative and experimental verifications are given by using a single cylinder and concentric double cylinders as test objects. As a result, fairly good images are obtained by choosing the surrounding medium velocity with optimum value.Furthermore, simulations assuming a human breast object are made to show the applicability of the method to the actual medical diagnosis.
