Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have measured input vs.output characterics of focused acoustic wave in superfluid microscope in a confocal configuration and observed a unique nonlinear effect, which has a strong pressure dependence. We have further performed the same measurements with different lens-to- reflector distances, and found that effective focal length becomes longer with increasing input power at high pressure region. The new experiment is now in progress to determine the distribution of the amplitude and phase modulation by nonlinear effect as a function of incident angle in focused acoustic wave,by measuring a complex V(z) curve. This method can be widely applied to investigate nonlinear propagation of focused acoustic wave in other fluids.
