On radiation condition in leaky SAW analysis

Abstract(in English) In the analysis of surface acoustic waves (SAWs), the radiation condition is used for the selection of physically proper partial fields from the solutions of the equation of motion, and implementation of the condition into softwares regarding the leaky SAWs was very troublesome. This paper describes a very simp1eform of the radiation condition which is implemented within the softwares (STW,FEMSDA, EPS, VCAL, OBLIQ), which are distributed freely from the authors' lab. This condition can be applicable not only Rayleigh SAWs but also leaky SAWs. Noteit can also be used for the calculation of the effective permittivity. It is also shown that the use of the effective permittivity enables the Newton method for the SAW solution search and this ensures very rapid convergence.
