Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have aimed to establish a non-invasive method for acoustic diagnosis of heart deseases and arteriosclerosis based on their elastic degeneration. Left ventricular (LV) pressure, which is a significant parameter for the clinical diagnosis of heart diseases, is usually measured by the invasive catheterization which inserts catheter to the heart via brachial artery or aorta vessel, although it is not favorable to repeat. In this paper, therefore, we present a new non-invasive method for estimation of the LV end-diastolic pressure, which is the most important for investigating cardiomechanism, by combining Mirsky's method and dimension analysis based on the LV sizes and the LV instantaneous eigenfrequency. The principle is confirmed by in vitro experiments by applying wavelet transform to the non-stationary vibration on the heart wall of an extracted caine heart.
