Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) High-power characteristics for Pb (Zr, Ti) O_3 (PZT) based ceramic and 128°rotated Y-cut LiNbO_3 (LN) crystal piezoelectric transducers were studied from a driving electric field E_d viewpoint. The effective vibration velocity v_0 linearly increases with the Ed for the LN transducer and its maximum v_0 which can be used is 2.7 m/s when driven with the E_d of 1.3X 10^3 V/m. The v_0 for the PZT based ceramic transducer initially increases with an increasing Ed and then gradually converges onto a certain value accompanied by heat generation. These phenomena are caused by the decrease in the mechanical quality factor with an increasing field. The ceramic transducer is capable of generating 0.68 m/s with 5.5 X 10^3 V/m.
