Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Ultrasound energy losses due to viscosity in a fluid induce acoustic streaming and temperature elevation in the beam. By cooling the flow changes crucially the spatial distribution of temperature elevation. The present report is to clarify quantitatively the cooling effect of acoustic streaming on the temperature elevation in water/silicone rubber system. Numerical examples of the sound field; streaming velocity, and temperature elevation are given for a 2.5MHz cw emitted by a Gaussian focusing source with effective radius 1.5cm, focal length 7.5cm, and source pressure 100kPa. They show that the cooling flow reduces the temperature elevation by about 3℃ in the vicinity of the water/rubber interface.
