Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Conditions for sustaining SBSL have been examined experimentally with respect to method of excitation and concentration of dissolved oxygen. As regards the former, two methods have been applied successfully to generate SBSL : one was to excite the spherically-symmetric vibration of the flask and the other was to excite higher-order mods, which were characterized by low Q-values and off-center spots. With either method at 1 atmospheric pressure the SBSL could be observed for a limited period because of diffusion of air, and the upper threshold of oxygen was determined as 4.5ppm or 55% of saturation.
