Chaotic Oscillations in the Josephson Tetrode

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we numerically calculated to investigate the possibility to generate chaos in the four-terminal superconductive device made of five Josephson weak-link junctions, the Josephson tetrode. A bifurcation was observed from a limit cycle of the voltages to a quasi-periodic attractor when one of the normal resistances was decrease. With the decrease of the normal resistance, the quasi-periodic attractor finally broke down itself and chaotic oscillations appeared. To confirm the generation of chaos, We numerically calculated the maximal Lyapunov exponent. The maximal Lyapunov exponent has a positive value. Therefore we conclude that deterministic chaos is observed in the Josephson tetrode.
