Microwave measurements of Low-Temperature dependences of complex permittivity of MgO and BMT substrates.

Abstract(in English) This paper presents measured results of low-temperature dependence of the complex permittivity (ε_s, tanδ_s) of MgO and Ba (Mg, Ta, Sb) O_3 ceramic substrates for High-T_c superconductibe thin films by using a circular cavity resonance method. At the room-temperture, the results of MgO substrates measured at 14~16GHz are ε_s=9.85 within the precision 0.2% and tanδ_s=7.8×10^<-6> within the precision 6.4%. Moreover, the measured results below 100K about 14GHz are ε_s=9.6~9.7 and tanδ_s<1.0×10^<-6>. Many MgO substrates in a lot have almost the same values of ε_s and tanδ_s, but the plates in the different lot have different ε_s and tanδ_s. When we design the microstrip filters, it is necessary to measure the complex permittivity for each substrate. The results of BMT substrates measured below 100K are scattered between ε_s=24.0~24.4 and tanδ_s=(1~10)×10^<-6>.
