Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The separate type devices, which consist of the thin-film folded-slot array antenna fabricated on one fused quartz substrate and Bi microbolometer fabricated on another fused quartz substrate, were investigated theoretically and experimentally in order to improve the power gain of the devices for 94 GHz millimeter wave radiation. The fabricated 8×3 folded-slot array antenna showed the power gain of 12.5dBi expected from the theory, and improved the power gain by 10.5dB compared to the single slot antenna. It was found that the power gain of separate type folded-slot array antenna was nealy equal to that of monolithic type slot array antenna.
