Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we have designed and fabricated a novel ternary multiplier using dc-SQUIDs. The multiplier is composed of two SQUIDs connected in series, where one of SQUIDs switches to the positive voltage state, while the other one to the negative voltage state. In order to eliminate the decrease of critical current by the trap of magnetic flux, we have used a Nb tube. We have measured the current-voltage characteristics, the threshold characteristics of the dc-SQUID and verified the logic operations for all input combinations.
