Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Terahertz(THz) electromagnetic pulse emission from YBCO films has been demonstrated for the first time by using an irradiation of femtosecond laser pulses. The THz pulse has a half width of half maxmum 0.6ps and its spectrum extends above 2THz. The emission intensity increases quadratically with increasing bias current and excitation laser power, which can be qualitatively explained by a two-fluid mode for a superconductor. It is also revealed that a bow-tie antenna is effective to enhance the radiation power.
