Characterization of Planar Type c-Axis Intrinsic Josephson Junction Array Made of Bi_2Sr_2CaCu_2O_<8+x> Single Crystals

Abstract(in English) Intrinsic Josephson junction arrays were made of Bi_2Sr_2CaCu_2O_<8+x> single crystals with a planar type structure. The columnal structure were formed onto the crystal in the range from l0 to 100μm in diameter and from 0.5 to 1.2μm in depth, which correspond to the array with between 330 and 800 junctions. Multiple branches in I-V curves, Ic dependence on an applied magnetic field, and microwave irradiation effects indicates that the devices work as a Josephson junction array. The similar type of devices were fabricated using YBCO thin films, which shows an RSJ-like I-V characteristic.
