Epitaxial EuBa_2Cu_3O_7 Thin Films Grown on Al_2O_3(11^^-02) Substrate with CeO_2 Buffer Layers

Abstract(in English) Epitaxial growth of CeO_2 films on Al_2O_3(11^^-02) substrates and the effect of CeO_2 buffer layers on the growth orientation and superconducting properties of EuBa_2Cu_3O_7(EBCO) were investigated. CeO_2 and EBCO films were prepared by RF and DC magnetoron sputtering, respectively, and were characterized by X-ray diffraction (θ-2θ scan and φ scan), atomic force microscopy (AFM). The EBCO films deposited on epitaxial (100) oriented CeO_2 50~400Å thick buffer layers had T_'s 90K or above.
