Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We often need diagrams for explanation, though a text is the most powerful and effective tools for communication by documents. For this purpose, we propose a novel scheme for diagram generation, in which the semantic structure of a text is effectively translated and linked to the text. This alms at "knowledge navigation" which supports human communication via documents. In this paper, we first describe the characteristics of diagrammatic expressions, and propose several useful categories of expressions. Then, we show the correspondence between diagrams and texts, and our framework for automatic diagram generation. Our preliminary experiments shows the feasibility of "knowledge navigation" by diagrams. |
