Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | One of the major problems for information system development is the difficulty to evaluate the cost benefits for the investment. Especially, conventional evaluation methods based on "person-hour" analysis often report cost demerit for the succeeded information system investments. This shows that the conventional approach is weak and inadequate. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new approach using CVM (Contigent Valuation Method), a well-known method for environment assessment, to evaluate the cost benefits of information system development. By using CVM, we can evaluate the cost merit of the quality improvement and response time reduction by the newly developed service. Also, We can evaluate the economical damage when a competitor employs the service. |
