| Abstract(in English) | We often use diagrams or other kinds of media together with natural language as effective means of communication.There are many researches which investigate the cooperative use of those information(especially in multi-media).Therefore,it is quite important to analyze pattern and language towards the integration of them.For this purpose,we introduce a new framework for diagram understanding by using natural language text.First,we introduce the method to extract conceptual information from diagrams and natural language text.After the information extraction,elements in both media are tightly linked each other.Then,the semantic interpretation of elements in diagrams can be performed using natural language information.Our experiments with diagrams and text in Encyclopedic Dictionary of Computer Science showed the effectiveness of our framework. |
